In the printmaking process the first thing that I did was sketch out my design on a piece of white paper. I chose to do the Iowa Hawkeyes logo and it turned out better then I thought it would. After I sketched my logo out on a piece of white paper, I traced it onto my linoleum block. Then I carved out the lines that I wanted to be white with a carving tool. Next, I picked out the ink color I wanted my print to be. I wanted it to go with my logo so I chose to use black ink. After that, I rolled the black ink onto my linoleum print block and put it face down on a big piece of white paper. Since I wanted my print to show up nice and clear on the paper, I had to press really hard on the linoleum print block. We had to make at least five good prints for this because some prints were going to be better than others. | |
