i chose to use the Iowa hawkeyes as my tag. i picked IOWA BECAUSE THEY ARE MY FAVORITE COLLEGE FOOTBALL TEAM. I THEN PUT THINGS THAT PERTAIN TO ME AROUND THE OUTSIDE OF THE TAG. I AM MOST PROUD OF THE IOWA TAG ALONG WITH THE HAWKEYE SYMBOL.
this is my responding challenge. i did challenge number two which was the impact of images. i chose to show how people are impacted with the als ice bucket challenge.
for the art challenge number two, i chose to make an animation of a crayon melting process. first i had to hot glue crayons in color order onto a canvas. Next i taped a picture of a heart onto the canvas so there would be a design of a heart. after that, i started melting the crayons with the hair dryer. One thing that i learned from this project is that you cant hold the hair dryer straight on. if you do this, the crayons will splatter everywhere. so what you have to do is hold the hair dryer up at an angle. after i melted the crayons, i took the tape off of the canvas and it left an outline of a heart.
For our 2D art project we had to draw something that we cared about. I chose to draw a picture of two friends because I care a lot about my friends. In this picture there are two girls making a heart with their arms showing their friendship. In the background there is a cornfield because i thought it would best represent Iowa. This picture reminds me of my friend and me because we took a picture like this once. It wasn't in front of a cornfield, but the picture still looked cool.
In the printmaking process the first thing that I did was sketch out my design on a piece of white paper. I chose to do the Iowa Hawkeyes logo and it turned out better then I thought it would. After I sketched my logo out on a piece of white paper, I traced it onto my linoleum block. Then I carved out the lines that I wanted to be white with a carving tool. Next, I picked out the ink color I wanted my print to be. I wanted it to go with my logo so I chose to use black ink. After that, I rolled the black ink onto my linoleum print block and put it face down on a big piece of white paper. Since I wanted my print to show up nice and clear on the paper, I had to press really hard on the linoleum print block. We had to make at least five good prints for this because some prints were going to be better than others.
The first project our art class had to do was the logo design project. we had to pick something that best describes us and the things we like to do. i chose to use a silhouette of a soccer player with a yellow, green and blue ombre background. this best describes me because one of my hobbies is to play sports and one of the sports i play is soccer.
